Ingredients
  

  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon cooked and chopped
  • cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups cubed bread day-old or slightly dry
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley green onions, or diced bell peppers

Instructions
 

  • Prep the Ingredients:
    - Cook the bacon until crispy, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
    - Cube the bread and shred the cheese if not pre-shredded.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
    - In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the bread cubes, half the cheese, and cooked bacon.
    - In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    - Pour egg mixture over the bread and bacon.
    - Top with remaining cheese.
  • Chill or Bake:
    - For best results, cover and refrigerate overnight. This allows the bread to soak up the egg mixture.
    - If baking right away, let sit for 15–30 minutes.
  • Bake and Serve:
    - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    - Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until eggs are set and top is golden.
    - Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
